DOT Editions is dedicated to applying new and emerging digital technologies to photography post–production. We are highly invested in working with High Dynamic Range imagery and developing new creative ways of utilizing its potential. For years major motion picture studios used 32–bit floating–point data to create realistic visual effects and seamlessly blend computer generated imagery with real–world footage. Only now still photographers are being introduced to this incredibly powerful tool. DOT is committed to educating the professionals in the field about how they could take advantage of HDR in their commercial and personal work as well as partnering with manufactures to help test and develop new software that will allow greater efficiency in 32–bit mode.

Below we provide several chapters that demonstrate the huge potential of such workflow and dwell more into the theory behind 32–bit floating–point HDR files.

Chapter selection:

1 – Extreme dynamic range
2 – Relighting the scene
3 – Combining the two
4 – Image–Based Lighting
